Empowering Women in the Mission of God: A Resource from NAMB

Welcome to the Charleston Baptist Association Women’s Ministry blog! We’re excited to introduce our new segment, Toolbox Tuesday. We aim to share resources that will encourage, empower, and equip you, supporting both your personal walk with Christ and your service in the spaces God has placed you—whether at home, in your neighborhood, at work, or in your church!

This week, we're excited to spotlight a standout resource from the North American Mission Board’s Women’s Evangelism site: Catherine Renfro's eBook, "Women in the Mission of God." In each concise chapter, Catherine provides Biblical truths with relatable stories and reflective questions. Her eBook serves as an excellent tool for those eager to foster a spirit of evangelism—both personally and within their communities. It lays a solid foundation for understanding WHY we evangelize and stimulates discussions on integrating the Gospel into daily life. Additionally, Catherine provides valuable resources for further teaching and training.

Chapters include:

  • We are called

  • We are equipped

  • We are sent

  • We have a mission field

  • We prepare to reach

  • We engage in the mission

  • Only Jesus

A Biblical Basis for Our Calling

Whether you serve in full-time vocational ministry or seek to glorify God in your daily life, this resource is designed to equip you for everyday evangelism. Every follower of Christ is entrusted with the mission of spreading the Gospel. Catherine’s eBook delves into the biblical basis for this calling, offering rich insights and practical applications. She emphasizes that our mission field extends beyond the walls of the church and into our homes, workplaces, and communities.

Sharing Your Personal Testimony

One of the most powerful tools we possess in evangelism is our personal testimony. "Women in the Mission of God" provides guidance on how to effectively share your story of transformation through Christ. Catherine encourages us to reflect on our journey, identify key moments where God’s grace and love were evident, and articulate these experiences in a way that resonates with others.

Identifying Your Mission Field

Another crucial aspect of evangelism is recognizing and engaging with our mission field. Catherine’s eBook helps us identify the unique places and people God has placed in our lives for the purpose of sharing the Gospel. Whether it’s our neighborhood, workplace, social circles, or even online communities, every interaction is an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love.

Catherine offers practical tips on how to be intentional in these interactions, encouraging us to build genuine relationships and seek opportunities to serve others. By understanding our mission field, we can strategically and prayerfully engage in evangelism, making a lasting impact for the Kingdom of God.

Gospel Conversation Starters

Starting a conversation about faith can sometimes feel daunting, but Catherine’s eBook provides helpful strategies to initiate Gospel-centered discussions. From asking thoughtful questions to sharing relevant scripture, these conversation starters are designed to open doors for meaningful dialogue about Christ.

The resource also emphasizes the importance of listening and understanding the perspectives of others, fostering a respectful and loving environment for sharing the Gospel. By being prepared with these conversation starters, we can confidently and compassionately engage in evangelistic conversations.
